NHAK observes World Oral Health Week
The Dental department of Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima (NHAK), under the aegis of the National Oral Health Programme, observed World Oral Health Week 2025

- DIMAPUR — The Dental department of Naga
Hospital Authority, Kohima (NHAK), under the aegis of the National Oral Health Programme,
observed World Oral Health Week 2025 at Tabitha Enabling Academy, Kohima, on
Tuesday and conducted free oral screenings.
- An update stated that the screening was held with the aim of
reaching out to differently-abled children and educating them on the importance
of maintaining good oral hygiene and preventing oral diseases.
- The team, led by District Oral Health Officer (NOHP) Dr. I
Simon Sumi, shared the importance of good oral health and demonstrated proper
brushing techniques to the students as well as the teachers.
- This was followed by free oral screening, consisting of
dental specialists Dr. Neingutuonuo Angami, Dr. Neiphrezo Soriinuo, Dr.
Noyinbeni, Dr. Mhonsenli, psychologist Pelebeinuo Khezhie, social worker Achi
Walling, and medical attendant Vilakhonuo.
- A total of 35 students and 18 teachers participated in the
programme. Free oral hygiene kits, consisting of toothpaste and toothbrushes,
were also distributed.
