Kohima, July 29 (EMN): Authorities have informed that debris from the landslide that occurred above the National Highway-2 at Phesama in Kohima district on Saturday was continuously being cleared to enable vehicular passage. The highway connects Nagaland with neighbouring Manipur.
Heavy vehicles that were stranded on either side of the landslide the previous evening were allowed to ply with caution, by Sunday afternoon, it was informed.
Members of the district administration, the police, Kohima district disaster management authority, and Phesama villagers are said to be monitoring the area for immediate clearance of any more debris that might fall onto the highway.
