Diphu, March 29 (EMN): Under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikash Yojana (RKVY) scheme for the year 2017-2018, a total of 32 power tillers were distributed to the beneficiaries including NGOs and women self help groups.
The distribution programs was held at Executive Engineer, Agriculture, mechanical division office complex in Diphu on March 28 Wednesday.
Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang who attended the program as chief guest said that KAAC is striving relentlessly to make Karbi Anglong a land of horticulture and a land of organic district soon.
Ronghang stated that the main aim of RKVY scheme is to make farming as a remunerate economic activity by increasing the income of the farmers as well as increase productivity while promoting agri-entrepreneurship.
As per the information of Agricultural officials, in the first phase a total of 32 power tillers were distributed while another 40 power tillers will be distributed in the second phase.
The price of the power tiller which is INR 1,95,000 is offering at 40% subsidy to the beneficiaries by the government.
The meeting was chaired by Amarsing Tisso, Executive Member KAAC in charge Agriculture department.
