Dimapur, Dec. 14 (EMN): Nagaland GBs’ Federation (NGBF) has lauded the collective decision of all the apex civil societies of Nagaland in meeting with NNPGs on December 9 to urge the Government of India (GoI) to suspend polls in Nagaland and allow the negotiators and the Naga people to focus solely on Naga political issue and deliver early solution. The federation has also expressed gratitude to the Nagaland Legislators Forum (NLF), former MLAs and MPs for the resolution taken on December 7 meeting to urge the GoI and other “stake holders” to resolve the Naga political problem before the next Assembly election. It has appreciated the leadership of the chief minister TR Zeliang, Naga political leaders (NSCN- IM, NNPGs) and the Naga civil societies for enabling the Naga political movement reach thus far. Meanwhile, it has appealed to the NSCN (K) collective leaders to join the negotiation and be part of peace process. The federation president Sahleem Konyak, information secretary Akhu Naga and the general secretary Shikuto Zalipu have endorsed an early Naga political settlement and requested to defer the Nagaland general election till the GOI and Nagas together pave ways for an honourable solution and permanent peace.
