Dimapur, Sep. 7 (EMN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has been continuously registering growth in freight loading.
An update from the NFR issued on Sep. 7 informed that the NFR has loaded 0.950 million tonnes (MT) during the month of August showing an increase of 17% in comparison to the corresponding period of the previous year.
The NFR has loaded 4.961 MT from April to August showing an increase of 24.1% as compared to corresponding period of the previous year.
During the month of August, coal loading increased by 122.2% and loading of few other commodities also increased by a good margin in comparison to corresponding period of the previous year.
The NFR is exploring all possible ways to boost the freight loading performance as transportation by rail is safer and quicker than roadways and is the most environment friendly mode available for customers, the update informed.
