DIMAPUR — The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has been taking several initiatives to improve the freight transportation and provide better customer interface.
An update from NFR informed that among such initiatives, few more stations have been opened for handling of both inward and outward goods traffic during the month of May to facilitate easier transportation of various goods by customers.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]To improve customer interface and augment freight revenue, Dalgaon station under Alipurduar division is being opened for handling of outward all goods traffic except coal, POL, livestock, explosive and crane consignment from May 12 while, Jagiroad station under Lumding division is being opened for handling of outward all goods traffic including coal except POL, explosive, livestock and crane consignment from May 15.
Also, New Harangajao station under Lumding division is re-opened for handling of outward stone chips consignment from May 22 and in addition, Nepal Custom Yard of Nepal under Katihar division is being opened for handling of all types of inward and outward goods traffic except coal, POL, livestock and explosive since May 27.
Improvement of customer interface and opening of new terminals leads to increase loading and unloading of freight trains, the update further informed.
