NFR seizes Chinese made items

Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) recovered six cartons of Chinese made goods from New Coochbehar under Alipurduar division on September 24.

An update from the chief PRO Subhanan Chanda stated that the RPF personnel, during a search under the supervision of its inspector Ravi Kumar, noticed six suspicious cartons lying near the parcel ramp opposite the new station building of New Coochbehar at about 10:25 am on September 24. Later, it was found that the packets contained Chinese made accessories including 820 nos of mobile batteries and 640 nos of mobile LCD touch display. Value of the seized Chinese items was estimated to be worth INR 2, 15,200.

The update stated that the seized articles were handed over to the inspector of Customs/ Dinhata, West Bengal, under proper seizure list. It further mentioned that RPF/ NFR had detected more than 655 cases for smuggling of contraband goods with a recovery of property worth INR 17,93,72,180 and arrested 185 persons from the year 2017 to 2020 (up to July).
