DIMAPUR — The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR)
has established ‘One Station One Product’ (OSOP) stalls at 142 railway stations
to boost the livelihoods of artisans and vendors.
The OSOP initiative aims to showcase the region’s rich
cultural heritage while supporting the #Vocal4Local mission, allowing train
passengers to purchase local handicrafts, handlooms, textiles, and other
handmade items during their journeys, according to a statement from the NFR
Chief Public Relations Officer, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, on Monday.
As of December 31, 2024, OSOP outlets were operational
across NFR’s five divisions, with 79 stalls in Assam, 43 in West Bengal, 13 in
Bihar, 4 in Tripura, 2 in Arunachal Pradesh, and 1 in Nagaland. The stalls
offer a range of products, including traditional Assamese pithas and gamosas,
indigenous dresses, local textiles, jute products, bamboo and cane crafts,
Darjeeling tea, jewellery, and various food items, it said.
