DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Foothills Road
Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) has informed that until and unless the
selected contractors sign an ‘Implementing Agreement’ with the committee, they
will not be allowed to execute the works awarded to them.
This was resolved during an executive meeting of the NFHRCC
held in Dimapur on Tuesday, the committee stated in a press release.
The committee reminded that in spite of two consecutive
requests to sign the agreement, some of the selected contractors had failed to
turn up.
“Therefore, the remaining firms are urged upon to sign the
agreement within the stipulated time frame as the 15 days duration to commence
the execution works will expire on December 21, 2024 as per the work orders,
failing which the works order will stands cancelled,” it stated.
It also informed that the committee and the respective
divisional executive engineers and teams had adopted some resolutions.
Terming the Foothills Road as an extra ordinary project or
people’s project, the NFHRCC affirmed that the committee and the department
will work with full dedication and cooperation.
It also resolved that no specifications incorporated in the
work estimates will be allowed to be compromised, either directly or
indirectly.
In addition, no bills will be released until an NOC is
issued by the committee after verification of the works executed.
“It is also resolved that non completion of assigned works
within the prescribed timeframe will qualify to disqualify the work order and
for which no part payments or compensations will be entertained.
“It is also resolved that concerned department will depute
the officials at the work site regularly by strictly maintaining the site book
with latest updates,” it stated.
Further, in the event of any dispute or misunderstanding
while executing the project, the NFHRCC will adjudicate upon the matter and the
decisions arrived thereon shall be final and binding to all the parties, the
release added.
