DIMAPUR — The
selected contractor firms of the two-lane Foothills Road construction project,
who were unable to attend the meeting with the Nagaland Foothill Road
Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) on December 12, have been requested to collect
the implementation agreement forms to append their signatures.
According to an update from NFHRCC, the forms are to be
collected on December 17 at 11:00 am, along with all the Divisional Executive
Engineers, at the NFHRCC base office in Kher Mahal, Dimapur, without fail. This
follows the meeting with the Minister of Nagaland Public Works Department
(Roads and Bridges) at his residential office in Kohima on Saturday.
It was mentioned that the matter required urgent attention
to ensure the long-awaited iconic Foothills Road project is completed within
the stipulated timeframe, without further delay, so that the people of Nagaland
can have a dignified road connectivity system within the state.
The committee further lauded the state government under the
able leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Minister of NPWD (Roads and Bridges)
Kaito Aye, and the concerned NPWD (Roads and Bridges) officials for their
efforts in mobilising the much-needed funds amounting to INR 148.5 crores under
the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment programme, starting
from the 2023-24 fiscal year as the first phase.
