DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Foothill Road
Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has scheduled a meeting of all stakeholders,
including the Dimapur-based tribal hohos, the Young Nagas Action Committee for
Foothills Road, representatives of the Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union
(NCSU), the Nagaland government-registered class-1 contractors, Nagaland Public
Works Department (NPWD) officials (including all divisional executive
engineers, PWD, R&B), and the selected contractor firms involved in the
first phase of the two-lane Foothills Road construction.
The meeting will take place on December 12 at 10:00 am at
the NFHRCC base office, Kher Mahal, Dimapur, stated a press release.
The purpose of the meeting is to deliberate on the
tripartite agreement to be signed between the concerned departments, the
contractor firms, and the committee, aimed at ensuring the judicious and timely
execution of works in line with the NPWD, R&B specifications outlined in
the detailed project report (DPR).
The committee lauded the "unflinching support" of
the 12 tribal hohos and the Young Nagas Action Committee for Foothills Road in
ensuring the success of the venture, aimed at providing “dignified
connectivity” along the Foothills Road from Tizit to Khelma.
It also expressed gratitude to the government of Nagaland
for mobilising the necessary funds for this iconic road project and solicited
continued commitment through all challenges until the project's completion.
It stated that, therefore, all stakeholders who have been
invited are expected to attend the meeting. If anyone fails to do so at this
crucial juncture, the committee will not take the matter lightly.
