Dimapur, April 4 (EMN): In what is claimed to be the first in Indian Railways, the NF Railway has started the training of Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) on simulator in application of emergency brakes. This was stated in a press release issued by the NF Railways Maligaon on April 5.
It stated that the loco pilots and ALP are responsible for the safe running of trains, where every pilot has a specified role to play.
The mechanical engineers of Diesel Shed, Siliguri is said to have designed the simulator in which a total of 1143 assistant loco pilots in N F Railway from which 1043 numbers have already been trained.
This special training has led to boosting self confidence and self belief in ALP and in bringing a feeling of individual worth and importance which leads to improved working, the release stated.
It is said to be mentioned that a large number of accidents have been occurred because of human error in the past. Signal Passing at Danger (SPAD) is one such reason for many accidents.
