Dimapur, Oct. 3 (EMN): As a mark of respect to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the auspicious occasion of his 150th birth anniversary a special cleanliness drives “Shramdaan” was launched on Oct. 2 at the Eco Park in Amingaon. “Shramdaan” is a part of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” a massive mass movement that seeks to create a clean India.
The PRO, NF Railway in Maligaon issued a press release on Tuesday stating that N K Prasad, General Manager, N F Railway (Construction) offered Shramdaan” as part of Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan” at the Eco Park in Amingaon.
Prasad also planted a sapling at the premises of ECO Park at Amingaon to convey the message of clean and green India. Following Prasad other officers and employees also planted sapling at the Eco park.
Later, addressing the gathering Prasad said that cleanliness is not only the responsibility of safai karamcharis or the government but of all the employees and officers. Prasad made an appeal to the employees, officers and their family to implement the vision and philosophy behind Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan launched by the prime minister of India to maintain hygiene and sanitation in the railway premises.
He further appreciated the contribution of staff for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene in their respective area though that was very big challenge.
