Dimapur Police arrest man after assault
DIMAPUR — Dimapur Police have arrested one person, identified as Sanjay Socia, in connection with an assault case involving blank firing. A police report on Wednesday said that authorities seized a vehicle and a firearm from the suspect and that a criminal case has been registered at Chümoukedima Police Station. The report further stated that the accused had earlier been booked in a domestic violence case at the Women’s Police Station.
Social Welfare dept. conducts capacity building in Wokha
DIMAPUR — The District Programme Officer, Social Welfare, Wokha, in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women Mission Shakti, Sakhi One Stop Centre, and the Medical Department, Wokha, conducted a one-day capacity-building programme for Anganwadi workers and ASHAs under Wokha town on February 24. According to a DIPR report, the training covered the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID, the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), and the role of Mission Shakti schemes.
Dimapur DPDB meeting on February 26

DoSE releases forms for private school recognition
DIMAPUR — The Directorate of School Education (DoSE), Kohima, has informed that application forms for provisional recognition, renewal of provisional recognition, and upgradation of permitted private schools (primary and upper primary), as well as forms for provisional recognition and renewal of permitted pre-schools, have been uploaded on the department’s website, education.nagaland.gov.in. The forms will be available from the date of issue of the notification until March 31. The department has requested the concerned parties to download the required forms and submit them within the stipulated time.
DC Mon informs public of Assam Rifles firing practice
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak, has informed the public of Mon town that the 42 Assam Rifles will conduct firing and explosive practice at the Unit Firing Range, Tactical Headquarters, Mon, from February 26 to March 15. The timing for the practice is from 7 am to 7 pm. During this period, loud sounds of firing and explosions may be heard in and around Mon town and adjoining areas. The public is advised not to panic, as it is part of routine training. Further, residents are advised to avoid movement in the vicinity of the firing range/camp during the mentioned period and to ensure the safety of children and livestock.
IAF announces Agniveervayu recruitment rallies
DIMAPUR — The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced open recruitment rallies for the selection of Agniveervayu (other than Science subjects) under Intake 02/2026. Eligible youth from Nagaland and other Northeastern states have been invited to participate. According to official information, the recruitment rally for candidates from Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, and Tripura will be held at 34 Assam Rifles, Mandir Gate, Zokhawsang, Aizawl, Mizoram, from March 9 to the 12th. Female candidates will report on March 9 and 10, while male candidates will report on March 11 and 12, at 6 am. Another rally covering candidates from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Sikkim will be conducted at HQ Eastern Air Command, IAF, Nonglyer PO, Upper Shillong, Meghalaya, from March 20 to the 23rd. Female candidates will report on March 20 and 21, and male candidates on March 22 and 23, at 6 am. Khwüno-Thevo, Viswe-Rachü to reaffirm age-old ties
DIMAPUR — Khwüno-Thevo and Viswe-Rachü are set to reaffirm their age-old Khel relationship at Thevomia Khel, Khonoma, on February 28. NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato) mourns demise of kilonser
DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato), through its MIP, expressed pain and sorrow at the demise of Kilonser H Mughalu Aye on Wednesday. He was a resident of Hoito village and son of Henivi Aye of Litsami village. In a statement, the NSCN/GPRN acknowledged the national service contributed by the late leader for almost 20 years. The group stated that his dedication and sincerity leave a trail of respect and encouragement for his comrades to follow and mark a sense of pride for his family.
