Kiphire DC warns against fuel hoarding, diversion
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer, has issued an order under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, directing all fuel stations in Kiphire district to adhere to a set of precautionary measures to ensure smooth and regulated fuel distribution. According to a DIPR report, all fuel stations have been instructed to maintain a minimum reserve stock of 2,000 litres of diesel and 1,500 litres of petrol at all times for emergency purposes. The order also warned against hoarding and illegal diversion of fuel. It stated that strict action would be taken under the Prevention of Black-marketing and Maintenance of Supplies of Essential Commodities Act, 1980, against anyone found involved in hoarding or unfair distribution practices. Fuel stations have been directed to ensure fair sale of stock. Further, managers of fuel stations have been instructed to maintain daily stock registers and submit reports to the district administration whenever required. Meanwhile, the public has been advised not to engage in panic buying or stockpiling of fuel, as adequate stock is available in the district. These measures have been taken as precautionary to ensure smooth and regulated distribution, it stated.
ADC Chozuba informs on ASF
DIMAPUR — The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Chozuba, has banned the slaughter, import, export and transportation of pigs and piglets under Chozuba sub-division in Phek district with immediate effect. According to a notification issued on May 27, the ADC stated that the restriction was imposed following the outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in different parts of the district and the state. The public has been advised to remain cautious of any suspicious behaviour or suspected death of pigs and to immediately report such cases to the veterinary officer, Chozuba. The order will remain in force until further orders.
St. Xavier HSS welcomes freshers
DIMAPUR — St. Xavier Hr. Sec. School, Shamator, celebrated its 4th fresher’s meet on Thursday.
