Minister Kenye releases book on profile of Nagaland CMs
DIMAPUR — Minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye, released ‘The leadership legacy: A profile of the chief ministers of Nagaland,’ published by the Department of Parliamentary Affairs, at his office chamber on Tuesday. According to a DIPR report, the minister congratulated the department for successfully bringing out the edition honouring the lives and contributions of the state’s chief ministers. Kenye also stated that the profile reflects on the leadership, unity and resilience that have defined Nagaland's political path and the people-centric policies framed and enacted based on Naga traditional and customary practices embedded in Article 371 (A) of the Indian Constitution.
SCERT informs on NHS textbooks
DIMAPUR — The SCERT Nagaland will facilitate the procurement of Nagaland Heritage Studies textbooks (Classes l-8) and Nagaland Heritage Studies textbooks Alternative English (Classes 5-8) for all private schools for the Academic year 2026. According to a DIPR report, private schools willing to use/ introduce the Nagaland Heritage Studies (NHS) textbooks have been informed to place their requirements through SCERT, the state's academic authority and not directly through the publisher on the Google form link https://forms.gle/szi936wJ6wVjiVNt7. The advertisement will also be uploaded on the department website https://scert.nagaland.gov.in/. Last date of submission of order is October 30, 2025. Peren DPDB meeting on Oct. 6
DIMAPUR — District Planning Officer and Member Secretary of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Peren, Danyi Domeh, has informed that the monthly meeting of the Peren DPDB will be held on October 6 at 11 am at the deputy commissioner’s office. According to a DIPR report, the deputy chief minister and chairman of DPDB Peren emphasised strict attendance of all members. Accordingly, all members have been requested to attend the meeting positively.
Longkong HWC gets NQAS certification
DIMAPUR — In a significant achievement, the Longkong Health and Wellness Centre in Mokokchung district has been conferred the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification. NQAS is awarded to public health facilities that meet stringent criteria for quality healthcare services. An update from CMO Mokokchung stated that Longkong HWC underwent external assessment for NQAS by the empanelled external assessors on August 30 and subsequently achieved the certification for its excellence and commitment to high quality standards.
EDTC extends Durga Puja greetings
DIMAPUR — While conveying puja greetings, the East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has appealed to the public and puja committees to observe the festivities in a responsible manner. “It is our collective duty to ensure that sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout the celebrations,” the council stated and requested all the devotees, organisers and public to cooperate in keeping the town clean and breathable by using designated collection points for wastes and avoiding littering in public spaces. “Together, let us make this puja not only joyous but also environmentally responsible,” it added.
ANTA announces office bearers
DIMAPUR — The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) nomination committee has announced a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2025 to 2030. In a press release, the ANTA informed that the new executive members were nominated following a meeting of the nomination committee headed by convenor Ketholhoutuo Belho at ISBT Hall, Kohima, on Tuesday. The new ANTA team will be headed by Dziesevituo Paul Solo as president, Avilie Kire (vice president), Elho Kin (general secretary), and Kelhoukhrielie Chielie (treasurer).
