Wokha tops state in PMMVY enrolment
DIMAPUR — Wokha district secured first position at the state level and fourth position at the national level in the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yohana (PMMVY) enrolment drive conducted from July 15 to August 15, 2025.
According to a DIPR report, Wokha district achieved 511% of its enrolment drive target set by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Meanwhile, Secretary of Social Welfare and Mission Director, Mission Shakti, Bodeno S Colo and Director of Social Welfare and Member Secretary, Mission Shakti, Tosheli Zhimomi, congratulated and presented certificate of appreciation to Wokha district for the outstanding performance during the enrolment drive.

Tseminyu declared Piggery district
DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), Tseminyu was held on Friday at the DC’s conference hall, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and vice-chairman of DPDB Tseminyu, Japheth Woch. In his address, the DC urged the members to attend DPDB meetings regularly and contribute meaningfully to ensure the effectiveness and relevance of the board’s deliberations and decisions. Reviewing the last meeting minutes, the board discussed constitution of LADP verification committee for the year 2025-2026. CVO Tseminyu, Dr. Kenalo Kath, gave action plan for Tseminyu district as Piggery district and after thorough deliberations, the board declared Tseminyu as Piggery district.
ENSF federal assembly on Aug. 29
DIMAPUR — The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) will hold its 26th federal assembly on August 29 in Sangphur village under Shamator district to be hosted by Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako (YAA). All the federating units, advisors and concerned stakeholders are requested to take note of the date and make necessary preparation to attend the assembly without fail. It informed that details regarding the agenda and logistics would be communicated in due course of time.
E&CC committee meeting on Aug. 26
DIMAPUR — Chairperson of Committee on Environment and Climate Change (E&CC), Achumbemo Kikon, has convened a consultative meeting with the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), Kohima District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KDCCI) and colony chairpersons on August 26 at K Shikhu conference hall of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat at 11 am. All the members of the committee are requested to attend the meeting.
NCSU lauds Nagaland DGP
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) has lauded the Director General of Police (DGP) of Nagaland, Rupin Sharma, for his continuous support towards the contractors and suppliers of the state and standing firm to their appeal in upholding the government standing order in awarding all contract and supply works through proper open tender and also to be awarded to bonafide NCSU registered members and card holders. The NCSU appealed to all the government departments and head of departments to follow suit the good example set by the Police Department under DGP, Rupin Sharma.
