NSCN (IM) rejects detainees' link
DIMAPUR — The NSCN (IM) has clarified that it has no association with four individuals reportedly detained by Indian security forces on July 14 in the Sharkaphung area under Litan Police Station, Ukhrul district. In a statement, the NSCN (IM) said the four individuals—Wungphayo Kasar (24), son of Yurthan Kasar; AS Ninglum (29), son of A S Hopeson; Yaoreingam Lungleng (24), son of Makanmi Lungleng; and Vareiyo Lungleng (56), son of Tuifa Lungleng—are neither its members, associates, nor representatives. The organisation issued the clarification for the information of the general public, stating that the four individuals have no affiliation with the NSCN-IM.
NEET form submission extended
DIMAPUR — The Directorate of Technical Education has extended the last date for submission of the NEET (UG) 2026 application form along with the NEET score card till July 23, 2026 (Thursday), 4 pm, in continuation of its notification dated June 16, 2026, a DIPR report stated.
CMA stands firm against crime
DIMAPUR — The Chakhesang Mothers' Association (CMA) held an emergency executive meeting with the presidents and secretaries of its eight areas at Pfutsero in Phek district on July 18. According to CMA president Zhonelü Tunyi, the meeting discussed and raised awareness about the current situation in society. She said the association pledged to stand firm and remain vigilant to prevent crime-related incidents in the future.
PWUK calls on Advisor Nienu
DIMAPUR — Members of the Phekmi Welfare Union Kohima (PWUK) called on Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu in Kohima on July 18 and felicitated him on his recent induction as Advisor for the Department of Science & Technology. Led by president Shevoduyi Venuh, the PWUK wished him success in his endeavour to take the state forward through the adoption of advanced technologies. During the interaction, Nienu stressed the need to give due importance to the Department of Science & Technology in the state, saying the whole world is advancing through science and technology. He urged PWUK officials to be dedicated to God first and to uphold honesty as the most powerful weapon to ensure a healthy and prosperous society. Meanwhile, the PWUK apprised the advisor of the proposed construction of the community building in Kohima.
