Fire guts apartment floor in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — A fire broke out at a four-storied building at Netaji Colony, Ward-8, Dimapur, on Tuesday, destroying the third floor of the apartment. According to the Central Fire Station, they received a distress call at 11:46 am and immediately dispatched two fire tenders along with fire personnel and another fire tender from the West Fire Station also joined the operation. The fire originated in a bedroom on the third floor and was caused by a short circuit, the report stated. The estimated property loss is between INR 3–4 lakh. No casualties were reported.
DC Kohima informs on firing exercise
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem has informed the general public of Kohima that the 13 Assam Rifles will be conducting small arms firing from December 1 to the 31st, at the Firing Range, Kohima Garrison. According to a DIPR report, the general public have been advised not to enter the Firing Range area and not to take cattle for grazing near the firing area during the mentioned period for safety reasons.

NSCN (IM) conducts cabinet reshuffle
DIMAPUR — The NSCN (IM) has informed that a reshuffle of cabinet portfolios was conducted on November 17 and the 18th. KP Huray, member of Collective Leadership, has been handed the charge of the Ministry of Kilo Affairs, and AC Maring will take over the Ministry of Information and Publicity, the NSCN (IM) stated in a press release on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Brig. (Retd.) Imnatemjen, executive member of Steering Committee, has taken over as the new convenor of the Ceasefire Monitoring Office.
ZB (N) general assembly on Dec. 12
DIMAPUR — The election commission of the Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland, ZB (N) has notified that the term-end election-cum-general assembly/conference of the ZB (N) is scheduled on the December 12 at 11 am at the baudi’s conference hall in Jalukie town, Peren district. In a press release, the ZB (N) informed all intending candidates to the posts of executive council/assembly secretariat to obtain nomination papers from office of the election commission of ZB(N). Further, electorates are informed to produce letters of authorisation from the respective villages seven days prior to the date of election.
AFRF urges timely completion Foothills Road Phase – 1
DIMAPUR — The Aggrieved Foothills Road Forum (AFRF) representing Bhandari and Changpang areas, Wokha district, has appealed to state government to ensure completion of the ongoing Nagaland Foothills Road Phase-1 from Doyang Bridge near Governors' Camp Liphanyan to Merapani under Baghty division by December 18, 2025. In a press release, the stated that delayed construction will adversely affect Phase-II, Bhandari & Changpang areas linking Mangkolemba division. The forum also extended support to the NFHRCC for its tireless efforts in making this dream project a reality and hoped that a strong coordinating effort with the NPWD (R&B) will expedite the road infrastructure in the proposed stretch from Tizit to Khelma.
