Scholarship timeline for 2025-26 announced

DIMAPUR — The Department of Higher Education has informed all educational institutions and students that the timeline for the academic session 2025-26 in respect of the CSS-Post Matric Scholarship (PM ST) for the ST students of Nagaland via the National Scholarship Portal (NPS), i.e., scholarship.gov.in, and the State Merit and Research Scholarship via the Common Scholarship Portal (CSP), i.e., scholarship.nagaland.gov.in, has been announced. According to a DIPR report, the registration process for students is from July 7 until September 30. The process of completion of verification by the institutes is October 31. The process for correction of defective applications by the students and the institutes is November 15, and the process of completion of verification by the state is November 30.

EPFO Dimapur to hold outreach in Kohima

DIMAPUR — The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Dimapur, will conduct an outreach and awareness programme, ‘Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0’, at M/S Nagaland Mineral Development Corporation Ltd., AG Colony, Kohima, on June 27 from 10 am. According to an update, the initiative aims to engage stakeholders, address grievances, and raise awareness of EPFO schemes and digital services. The Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II, Dimapur, Samuel Das, along with the SSO Dimapur team, will personally hear grievances from workers, employers, and industry representatives.

Career counselling for Mokokchung youth on June 27

DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, has informed all concerned that the State Institute of Hotel Management will be conducting a career counselling session specifically targeting parents, youths, and those students who have completed their higher secondary schooling. According to a DIPR report, the career counselling session for Mokokchung District is scheduled to be held on June 27 at 10 am in the conference hall of the DC Office in Mokokchung.

Committee on ULBs to meet on June 27

DIMAPUR — Advisor and Chairperson of the Committee on Urban Local Bodies and Nagaland Village Councils, K Tokugha Sukhalu, has convened a committee meeting on June 27 at 11 am in the C Chongshen Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat, Kohima. An update stated that all committee members are requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting.

NNC/GDRN clarifies on Jackto Sumi

DIMAPUR — NNC/GDRN (Non-Accord) has clarified in response to a news item that appeared in local English newspapers concerning one Jackto Sumi. In the interest of public clarity, NNC/GDRN (Shilu-Shehoto) stated that Mr Jackto Sumi is a bona fide member serving as finance secretary, duly appointed by the government, and that he is not impersonating or discrediting any government or groups but is working for the government in the capacity assigned to him.
