Nagaland polling stations rise to 2,399
DIMAPUR — As part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls (Phase-III), polling stations have been rationalised across all 60 Assembly constituencies in Nagaland. The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, stated in a press release that the exercise was carried out based on house-to-house enumeration by Booth Level Officers (BLOs), as mandated by the Election Commission of India. Polling stations with more than 1,200 electors were identified for rationalisation. Based on recommendations from the district election officers, made in consultation with political parties, 38 new polling stations were created with the approval of the Election Commission of India. With this, the total number of polling stations in the state has increased to 2,399.
NBSE notifies exam form dates
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has notified that the dates for filling up forms for the HSLC and HSSLC Examinations 2027 for regular, private and compartmental candidates will be from October 1 to the 17th. The intending candidates have been informed to note the dates and fill up their application forms by accessing the NBSE portal, nbsenl.edu.in. Institutions and centres are to log in to the NBSE portal, verify the forms and pay the examination fees for their respective categories of candidates within the above-mentioned dates. Intending private candidates are to fill up their forms from the school where they studied last.
Sunday closure of butcher shops
DIMAPUR — The Ministry of Kilo Affairs (Home) of the NSCN-K (Khango-Vusshe) has directed all butcher shops in Dimapur to remain closed on Sundays. In a press release on Friday, the ministry stated that the directive, or Azha, was issued in accordance with a resolution adopted at a cabinet meeting. It said the closure was in keeping with established principles and the observance of Sunday as a holy day that should be respected. The ministry directed all butcher shops to strictly comply with the order and warned that individuals or establishments found violating or deliberately disregarding it would be dealt with in accordance with the applicable yezahbo of the NSCN/GPRN. The directive comes into effect from the date of its publication and will remain in force until further orders, it stated.
