Governor Bhalla extends Onam greetings
DIMAPUR — Governor of Nagaland Ajay Kumar Bhalla has extended Onam greetings to the Malayali community. In a greeting message, the governor said that Onam festival reflects the rich cultural heritage of Kerala and the spirit of unity, peace and harmony. “Onam is not only a thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest but also a time to cherish the values of love, equality and togetherness, as symbolised by the legendary reign of King Mahabali. “May this festive season bring happiness, prosperity and good health to all and may the spirit of Onam strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among us,” the message read.
ADC Medziphema issues travel advisory
DIMAPUR — The ADC Medziphema has informed that the bridge between Khaibung-Zhuikhu requires urgent repair and maintenance work for safety of all commuters. To facilitate the said repair works and to avoid any untoward incidents, it is necessary to close traffic movement on the aforementioned stretch completely, the ADC stated in a travel advisory. The affected bridge shall remain temporarily closed to all form of vehicular traffic with effect from September 5 to the 24th. All commuters have been directed to take the alternate route via Moava to Sainik School, Punglwa , to Jharnapani during this period .

Meteu Therie's grammar book launched
KOHIMA — Meteu Therie's book, ‘English Grammar & Composition,’ was released on Thursday at Pfutsero, with Rev. Dr. N Chiero, senior pastor of PTBC, offering the launch prayer. According to a press release, the book is precisely crafted to align with the syllabus and the questions asked in state competitive exams like NPSC and NSSB. “What sets this book apart is its focus on practical application. Each chapter includes; definitions, rules, exceptions, examples, and exercises with answer keys and explanations,” the release stated. The book will be available at Magdaline Coaching Centre, PR Hill, Kohima, and Intensive Coaching Centre, near ITI Bayavü, Kohima.
NSCN warns against tax impersonators
DIMAPUR — The NSCN led by Angmai-Mulatonu reiterated that it has not authorised any individual or entity to collect taxes within Nagaland state. In a press release, the NSCN informed that certain individuals are fraudulently collecting taxes under the guise of the group from businesses in and around Dimapur. The NSCN urged the public and business owners to verify any claims of tax collection by contacting Finance In-charge Zhimoka Zhimomi Contact (+91 84139 89765 / 7005291663) before making any payments. Further, the group issued a stern warning to Sukhai Awomi, son of Hevuxu Awomi, presently residing at “Super Market,” and others to immediately cease their fraudulent activities, or face severe consequences in accordance with the Yehzabo of the government.
