Traffic advisory for Satakha-Xuivi-Sukhai route
DIMAPUR — The ADC Satakha has issued a travel advisory in view of the ongoing construction of the road from Zhekiye to Tizu bridge. According to a DIPR report, the portion of the road from NH-702 A, specifically from Zhekiye village to Sukhai village, shall be closed to all forms of vehicular movement for a period of one month, with effect from December 18, 2025, to January 17, 2026. This measure is to facilitate the smooth implementation of the work without interruption. Travellers have been advised to take the alternate Satakha-Xuivi-Sukhai route and vice versa.
Dimapur DPDB meeting postponed
DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, has issued a circular stating that the DPDB meeting for December has been postponed. According to an update, the information has been communicated to all concerned members for necessary note.

Konyak Union Mon lauds police action
DIMAPUR — The Konyak Union (KU), Mon Unit, has extended its “unwavering support” to the District Executive Force (DEF), Mon Unit, for its efforts in apprehending a lady constable and other individuals involved in the smuggling and sale of illegal drugs. In a press release, the KU Mon stated that the arrests were made in connection with the sale of contrabands at the Mon village junction on December 5. The union reiterated its stand against contraband and illegal drugs. The KU Mon condemned such activities, stating that they not only affect human lives but also directly injure the morality of society. It urged that individuals involved in such activities must be given deterrent punishment as per the law of the country and the state.
Helicopter service suspension announced
DIMAPUR — The general manager of Nagaland State Transport (NST) has informed the commuter and the public that the State Helicopter service will not be available for regular scheduled sorties as well as normal chartered service, except for state emergency service and emergency medical evacuation sorties, in view of Christmas and New Year. The service will be suspended on December 24 and the 25th and December 31 and January 1, 2026.
SACAK holds annual session in Pughoboto
DIMAPUR — The Sumi Aphuyemi Catholic Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (SACAK) annual session was held at Pughoboto from December 12 to the 14th on the theme “Pilgrims of Hope”. According to an update, the three-day conference was attended by about 200 delegates from five villages. The main speaker was Rev. Fr. Paul Inashe Capuchin, parish priest and spiritual animator. Other speakers included Vihokhu Paul, headmaster of Government Middle School, Mukalimi; Vivitoli Swu, agri inspector, Pughoboto; and Khutovi Vincent, assistant headmaster of Government High School, Lazami.
CRPF battalions conduct civic action programmes
DIMAPUR — The 173 Bn CRPF and 78 Bn CRPF conducted separate civic action programmes in Chümoukedima and Kohima districts respectively. According to an update, on December 17, the 173 Bn CRPF organised a programme at the battalion headquarters near CIHSR Hospital, Chümoukedima, under the Civic Action Programme 2025-26. During the event, solar lamps were distributed to the villagers from Chekiye, Naga United, Unity Village, Diphupar, Mishikito, Senjum, Kuda village and Burma Camp. A total of 16 families benefited from the initiative. Meanwhile, the 78 Bn CRPF inaugurated a newly constructed toilet for girl students at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Sechu Zubza, Kohima, on December 16.
FGN education department shares message to students
DIMAPUR — The Department of Homaki (Education), Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN), has extended congratulations to all students across Nagaland as the academic session of 2025 concludes for Nursery to Class 9. In a message, students preparing for the HSLC and HSSLC examinations scheduled for February–March 2026 were encouraged to remain focused, disciplined, and committed in their preparation. The department wished for the message of love, hope, and renewal during the Christmas season to inspire students to grow in knowledge, character, and service.
