Tuensang cracks down on defaulting pharmacies
DIMAPUR — The District Drugs Control Officer, Tuensang, carried out a pharmacy licence cancellation drive in Tuensang town on Tuesday. The team was led by Drug Control Officer, Tuensang accompanied by pharmacists from CMO’s office, district administration and police personnel, an update stated. Earlier, as per the state drugs control authority, show cause notices were served to defaulting firms. However, the firms had failed to appoint registered pharmacists after a lapse of over four years, in contravention of Rule 65 (2) of the Drugs & Cosmetics Rules and Section 42 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948. During the drive, licences of 18 firms/medical outlets were cancelled and closed down. The chief medical officer of Tuensang acknowledged the district administration and police personal for their cooperation and support.
FBOs notified to register under Food Safety Act 2006
DIMAPUR — The Food Safety Administration, Kohima Zone, has informed all Food Business Operators (FBOs), including resorts, homestays, hotels, restaurants, mess, institutional/office canteens, anganwadi centres, to get registered under the Food Safety Act, 2006 & Regulations, 2011. The registration also applies to manufacturing units, home-based FBOs, caterers, pharmacies which sells food supplements, distributors, wholesalers/retailer of food items, street food vendor etc., an update from the Food Safety Administration, Kohima Zone stated. FBOs who have not obtained the stated license/registration certificate are to obtain through online website www.foscos.fssai.gov.in or approach the office of the Chief Medical Officer, Food Safety Section, Paramedical Colony, for assistance. The FBO’s have been notified to obtain the license/registration certificate within 30 days.
Chümoukedima cemetery to reuse space for burials
DIMAPUR — The management committee of the Chümoukedima Common Naga Cemetery has unanimously resolved to re-use the space for fresh burial wherever no permanent tomb/grave was constructed for a period exceeding 25 years. In a press release on Tuesday, Chairman of Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) Lhousito Khro stated that the resolution was necessitated due to increased rate of mortality and lack of space. “Further, the newly acquired site for burial is not yet ready for want of master-plan which will take some more time,” it stated. All concerned have been requested to take note and meet any of the committee members or the CTC chairman for any claims or objections within 15 days.
Mokokchung DPDB meeting on Feb. 13
DIMAPUR — The district planning officer & member secretary of District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), Mokokchung, has informed that the monthly DPDB meeting will be held on February 13 at 11 am at the DC’s conference hall, Mokokchung. According to a DIPR report, all the members concerned have been requested to attend the meeting positively.
ADC Chozuba calls for smooth exams
DIMAPUR — In view of the HSLC and HSSLC examinations scheduled from February 12 at GHSS, Chozuba, Phek district, the ADC Chozuba, Dr Diana has directed the departments of Police, SBI, Post Office, Medical, Power, PHED, NST, and DBs/GBs to carry out their respective responsibilities as deliberated and assigned during the co-ordination meeting held on February 2, for smooth conduct of the examination in the sub-division. Additionally, the authorities have been informed to maintain peace and tranquillity in the vicinity of the examination centre as well as maintenance of peaceful atmosphere during the entire duration of the examination period, a DIPR report stated.
KAPO holds first presidential meet
DIMAPUR — The Khongsa Area Public Organisation (KAPO) conducted its handing and taking over ceremony-cum-first presidential meet at Khongsa town, Kiphire district, on February 9. The programme began with a welcome address delivered by KAPO president Y Samuel, who highlighted the achievements of the outgoing team and importance of continuity in leadership, an update stated. He also emphasised the need to protect, conserve, and maintain the flora and fauna in the region. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by T Thronghokiu, general secretary KAPO.
