DC Kohima felicitates first Census enumerator to finish field visits
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, on Friday presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Census Enumerator Ketseinuo Sote in recognition of her sincerity and commitment in carrying out the House Listing and House Census exercise under Kohima Sadar Rural Charge.
According to a DIPR report, the certificate was presented at the Deputy Commissioner's office chamber after Sote became the first enumerator to complete the physical fieldwork in Enumeration Block (EB) No. 0027. Congratulating the enumerator, Buchem said the Principal Census Office has been closely monitoring the progress of all personnel engaged in the Census exercise, addressing challenges encountered during fieldwork and extending necessary support to ensure its smooth implementation. He said the certificate was awarded in recognition of Sote's dedication and timely completion of the physical field visits. The district administration, however, clarified that although the physical enumeration work in EB No. 0027 has been completed, the overall Census process remains ongoing, with the remaining official procedures yet to be completed.
Khongsa conducts GPDP training
DIMAPUR — The block-level training on the People's Plan Campaign (PPC) for the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2026-2027 was held at the office hall of the Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission, Rural Development Block, Khongsa, under Pungro subdivision of Kiphire district, on July 9. According to a DIPR report, the programme was organised on the theme, "Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas". The training was attended by 23 Gram Panchayat Village Development Board secretaries, area coordinators, 15 VLOs (NSRLM), and representatives from the line departments. The programme began with a keynote address by Y Hongtan Chingkhong, BDO, Khongsa. Resource persons Mayangniken Longchar (BPMU, RGSA) and officials from NSRLM highlighted the Village Prosperity Resilience Plan (VPRP) and livelihoods under PPC-GPDP 2026-2027. This was followed by an open discussion on PPC-GPDP 2026-2027. The heads of the respective line departments also highlighted the schemes and activities undertaken by their departments.
FoodWiFi App launched in Kohima
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, officially launched the FoodWiFi app at his official chamber on Friday. Speaking at the launch, FoodWiFi CEO Anato Sema said the app was developed to create employment opportunities, particularly for students and unemployed youth, a DIPR report stated. He said the platform would allow students to work as delivery partners after their classes, enabling them to earn an income to support their education and assist their families. Sema said the initiative also aims to provide a local alternative to national food delivery platforms by offering restaurants fair and sustainable service rates, thereby strengthening local businesses. Expressing hope that the platform would promote local entrepreneurship, he said FoodWiFi would help create livelihood opportunities for the youth while contributing to the economic growth of Nagaland.
PTC celebrates second anniversary
DIMAPUR — The Phek Town Council (PTC) celebrated the second anniversary of its formation at Phek town on July 9. PTC chairperson Shevohu Nienu said the council remains committed to serving the people with transparency, accountability, and dedication. “With the continued support and cooperation of all the council members, we believe we can achieve greater milestones in the years ahead,” he said. He also thanked the district administration, law enforcement agencies and NGOs for their support and commitment towards the development of Phek town. Phek Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori, Superintendent of Police Dr. Pritpal Kaur, Commandant of 39th Assam Rifles Lt. Col. Pabitra Mazumder, ADC & EO Phek Thejakhrienuo Nisa, and several other dignitaries were present at the celebration. The programme was chaired by Seyieveto Lohe.
