Chozuba ‘Village Fair’ on Oct. 6
DIMAPUR — The second edition of the ‘Village Fair’ on the theme “Empowering Farmers & Entrepreneurs”, powered under LADP 2026 and organised by Green Village Link (GVL) in collaboration with the district administration and multiple departments and organisations, is scheduled to be held on October 6 at Chozuba, Phek district. According to a DIPR report, the fair will offer farm fresh produce, local handicrafts, agri and rural enterprises.
42 AR Mon firing practice
DIMAPUR — The 42 Assam Rifles will conduct firing and explosive practice at the Unit Firing Range, Tactical Headquarters, Mon, from October 1 to the 31st from 7 am to 7 pm, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Pakon Phom, has informed the general public. According to a DIPR report, loud sounds of firing and explosions may be heard in and around Mon town and adjoining areas. The public has been advised not to panic as the activities are part of routine training. Residents have further been advised to avoid movement in the vicinity of the firing range and camp during the period and ensure the safety of children and livestock.
Chiephobozou joins social work
DIMAPUR — A mass social work was carried out in Chiephobozou on October 1, as part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign being observed from September 17 to October 2 under the banner of “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath”. According to a DIPR report, heads of departments, schools and educational institutions, town councillors and citizens participated in the mass social work initiated by the administration of Chiephobozou sub-division.
Liangmai Foundation mourns deaths of Marinmai, Pame
DIMAPUR — The Liangmai Foundation (LF) has mourned the deaths of Nampibou Marinmai, Director (News), Doordarshan Kendra, Aizawl, and Dr. Engam Pame, Additional Director General, PIB & CBC, Regional Office, Imphal, who died in a road accident near Sateek, Mizoram, on October 1. The two officials were travelling in connection with an official programme when the accident occurred. In a condolence message, the foundation described their deaths as an immeasurable loss to their families, colleagues and the wider community. It said both were accomplished administrators and dedicated public servants who made significant contributions to the people of Northeast India. The foundation extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, relatives, colleagues and friends, and prayed for strength and comfort for them during the difficult time. The LF said it will hold an online condolence meeting on October 4 at 5 p.m. in memory of the departed.
NNC CEC meeting on Oct. 10
DIMAPUR — The Central Executive Council (CEC) of the Naga National Council (NNC) will hold a meeting at the NNC Office, Chedema Peace Camp, on October 10 at 10 am. In a circular, the NNC requested all CEC members and regional presidents to attend the meeting. The meeting will discuss important issues of the nation, and all members have been requested to come with constructive agendas.
JD Youth Wing mourns ET Ezung
DIMAPUR — JD Nagaland Youth Wing president Mhao Yanthan has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker and Minister ET Ezung. In a condolence message, Yanthan described Ezung as a wonderful person and recalled his kindness, wisdom and guidance during their long association, saying that he had been a fatherly figure to him.
