KIN conveys Chavang Kut greetings
DIMAPUR — The Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) has greeted its community on the occasion of Chavang Kut, one of the eight prominent festivals of the Kukis. Chavang Kut, traditionally celebrated in the autumn season, marks the completion of a successful harvest of early paddy and other cereal crops. It is a time to thank the Almighty for His blessings and to rejoice in the fruits of hard work and unity within the community. It wished that the festival would bring peace, unity, joy and harmony among all sections of society. It further sought to strengthen the bond of brotherhood and inspire them to work together for a prosperous and peaceful future.
TSUD convenes coordination meeting
DIMAPUR — The Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has convened a coordination meeting with all the unit presidents, jubilee committee and jubilee sub-committee members on November 1 at the office of the Tenyimi Union Dimapur, Tenyimi Complex, Khermahal, at 3 pm. The meeting has been called to discuss matters relating to its upcoming jubilee celebration. The union has requested all the concerned members to attend the meeting.

Asian Koel bird relocated to natural habitat
DIMAPUR — K Neibu Sekhose handed over an Asian Koel bird to staff of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department in Kohima on Friday. An update from the department stated that the bird was handed over in a healthy condition with no injuries. It added that the bird was released in the surroundings of the Blyth’s Tragopan Conservation and Breeding Centre, Kohima, on the same day in the presence of Akokba Ao, ranger and officer in charge of the Blyth’s Tragopan Conservation and Breeding Centre, Kohima.
NSCN (Khango-Vusshe) terminates two
DIMAPUR — The Ministry of Kilo (Home) Affairs, NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Vusshe), has terminated TJ Selo Sangtam, leacy, and Sepikyu Sangtam, razou peyu, from the United Sangtam Region, from active and primary membership of the government. According to the order, the termination comes into immediate effect.
Kohima district mass social work postponed
DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, has informed that the Kohima district mass social work, scheduled for November 1, has been postponed until further notice. According to a DIPR report, all concerned have been informed to take note of the postponement. The revised date or schedule of the district-wide mass social work will be notified in due course.
COPTA enforcement drive conducted in Tizit
DIMAPUR — A Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COPTA ) enforcement drive was carried out at Tizit Town, Mon, on Friday. According to a DIPR report, the operation was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tizit, Relise Sangtam, accompanied by Consultant, NTCP, Mon, E Nyeamying Konyak, DBs, and police personnel. The drive focused on ensuring compliance within a 100-metre radius of educational institutions as mandated under the Act. The seized tobacco products were destroyed in the presence of the administration and police.
