Mon DC prohibits use of explosives, chemicals for fishing
The Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Thavaseelan K, has prohibited the use of explosives and chemicals for fishing purposes within the jurisdiction of Mon district as it is detrimental to the river ecosystem and dangerous to human life and health. The DC, in an order on Oct. 31, said that the prohibition has been issued in pursuance of section - 4 of Indian Fisheries Act 1987. Non-compliance of the order would attract punishment as per the relevant Section of the said Act, he added. The DC further requested all village council authorities to be vigilant and cooperate with the district administration to tackle the issue positively, the DIPR updated.
Kiphire DPDB meeting on Nov. 5
The monthly meeting of the Kiphire district planning and development board (DPDB) will be held on Nov. 5. All concerned members have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.
ANTA Wokha unit coordination meeting on Nov. 4
The executive and picnic committee of all Nagaland taxi association (Anta) Wokha unit has convened a coordination meeting on Nov. 4 from 3 pm at the Anta Wokha unit office. The meeting has been called in view of the Anta Wokha unit raising day-cum-annual picnic scheduled on Nov. 17 at Santsuphen. All concerned have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.
KMC informs hotels and restaurants for Hornbill fest
As per the directive of the Government and recommendations made by the Accommodation Committee (AC) for Hornbill Festival 2018, it notified all hotels, restaurant etc within the jurisdiction of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) to use the correct nomenclature with immediate effect which are as follows: All hotels using signage “Fooding & Lodging” should be corrected as “Food & Lodge”. The nomenclature of hotel will be use only for those category having food & lodge facilities. Tea hotel should be corrected as ‘Tea Stall, Café or Restaurant as deem fit’. The nomenclature of tea stall, café or restaurant will be for that category without lodge facilities. The KMC has notified that defaulters will be penalised as per the appropriate rules and regulation.
Mkg. DWO informs beneficiaries on old age, widow and disability pension
The district welfare officer, Mokokchung has informed all pensioners drawing old age and widow pension under the National Scheme (NSAP) that sanction has been accorded for 9 months for 2016 – 17. For “disability and blind persons pension” under the state scheme, sanction has been accorded for 12 months for 2017 – 18. The payment would be made in cash from Nov. 6 till Dec. 6 at District Welfare Office, Mokokchung during office hours. All concern beneficiaries are informed to produce life certificate obtained from the respective VCC/Pastor. Further, those beneficiaries who have not submitted Aadhaar and bank account numbers have been asked to submit the same while receiving the payment. Payment of Pension will be done as per range/village/ward in a phase-wise manner: Mokokchung Town Nov. 6-9; Ongpangkong Nov. 12-17; Asetkong Nov. 19 to 20; Langpangkong Nov. 21 to 28; Jangpetkong Nov. 29 to 30; Japukong Dec. 3 to 5; and Tsurangkong on Dec. 6, the DIPR updated.
