Power shutdown in Dimapur
Power supply in Dimapur district would be affected on June 9 from 6 am till 11 am as the department has decided to carry out tree trimming and jungle cutting on that day. Informing this in a press release, the executive engineer, Imsenkaba, has requested all the esteemed consumers under Dimapur district to bear with the inconveniences. He has further requested all the concerned colony authorities to comply with the department by clearing trees and shrubs obstructing the power supply.
Dimapur GBs convene meeting
Dimapur District GBs’ Association (DDGBA) has convened an executive meeting on June 9 in its office near Green Park junction at 10 am. The association information secretary, Akhu Naga has requested all the unit presidents and secretaries to attend the meeting without fail. He has further informed all the concerned members to bring their membership fees.
MLA convenes meeting
Chotisuh Sazo, MLA and chairman of the committee on government assurances, has convened its first introductory meeting for adoption of the 92nd main report and 93rd and 94th action taken reports of the committee on government assurances (2018-2019) on June 15 at 11:30 am in the committee room of assembly secretariat. The assembly commissioner and secretary, Benjamin Newmai has requested all the concerned members to attend the proposed meeting without fail.
CBCK fathers’ camp from today
A three-day fathers’ camp of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima (CBCK) would begin on June 8 at Mount Tabor, Kohima. The camp is being held on the theme “Let us build our home.” On June 8, the campers would depart from the church premises at 3 pm for the venue. It was informed that the gospel service would take place from 6:30 to 8 pm on the same evening with Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh as the speaker.
Unity College organises poster contest
A team of six students from Unity College has visited and collected information regarding the abuse of tobacco and its effect on the society from Dr. Ankit Jain from Eden Hospital, Dr. Janet Solo from Nikos Hospital, and Dr. Perfect Smile. On the occasion of ‘No Tobacco Day,’ the college has also organised a poster competition in which MN Longau Phom of BA 5th semester was adjudged the winner. Unity College had also taken part in the social work organised by DMC on the occasion of the World Environment Day 2018.
PHE minister visits Fazl Ali College
State PHE minister, Jacob Zhimomi, paid a brief visit to Fazl Ali College on June 7 and planted a tree sapling in the campus. During an interaction, the minister has conveyed best wishes in their endeavours. He also inspected the water supply facilities in the college. The minister has further assured to improve the water supply infrastructure in the College.
New Wokha village grateful
The village development board (VDB) and the village council of New Wokha village have conveyed gratitude to Dr. Asenuo, chief veterinary officer, along with Dr. Morothung, Mhonchumo Murry and staff of district veterinary, Wokha, for conducting a free vaccination on anti rabies and distributing medicine free of cost. In a press release, the VDB secretary, Chichamo Kithan has appreciated the department for the humanitarian gesture.
State unit of the Janata Dal (United) has expressed solidarity with the Lotha Hoho in their demand for an all weather road between Wokha and Merapani, which is the lifeline road for the people of Wokha district. The party has urged the concerned contractor to uphold quality by adhering to the specifications. JD (U) general secretaries Kitoho S Rotokha and Thangliba have urged the concerned contractor to strictly follow the prescribed guidelines. The party has also urged the state government to take appropriate measures with the concerned authority in fulfilling the contract agreement. It was of the view that the state government, being the guarantor of such project implementation, is equally responsible to the people of the state. JD (U) has urged the concerned contractor to pay heed to the voices of the people and comply to the demand of the Lotha Hoho. It further appealed to NHIDCL to rein on CS Infra before any serious eventuality takes place.
Leo Club of Dimapur has organised a career orientation programme titled ‘Udaan’ on June 7 at Latika complex, Nyamo Lotha Road, Dimapur. The speaker of the programme was Arinban Saikia. More than 600 students from different schools in Dimapur have participated in the programme. Sandip Jain was the chairman of the programme.
Director of technical education, Arjun Singh, in a notification, informed that the last date for submission of required documents for NSEE viz mark sheet, indigenous tribe certificate and backward tribe certificate has been extended to June 12. It further informed that candidates failing to submit the same would be forfeited.
The veterinary dispensary, department of animal husbandry and veterinary services, Pfutsero, in collaboration with the administration, has conducted a free anti-rabies vaccination cum animal health camp at Pfutsero local ground on June 7. The camp was conducted with an aim to create awareness on zoonatic diseases especially rabies and also the importance on animal healthcare for better production. The department also distributed medicines, dewormers, vitamins and minerals free of cost. An approximate 130 animals were treated and given medicines free of cost.
