Tuophezou union to felicitate students
Tuophezou Students’ Union (TSU) has announced to organise its 6th felicitation programme on June 9 at 12 noon at Nousi auditorium, Niathu Resort, Chumukedima, Dimapur. All the HSLC/ HSSLC successful candidates from all its affiliated units are requested to attend the programme positively. The organisation informed that Hekani Jakhalu Kense, founder and chairperson of governing council, YouthNet, has kindly consented to grace the occasion as the speaker.
DRSU to mobilise membership
Dimapur Rengma Students’ Union (DRSU) has announced to collect its annual membership beginning from June 5. Informing this in a press release, the union education and statistical secretary, Nony Semy, general secretary Noel Thong, and the information secretary Yhuntelo Tep have informed all the respective area representatives to mobilise their members to ensure success of the programme.
Leo Club to host orientation
Leo Club of Dimapur has announced to organise a career orientation programme titled ‘Udaan’ on June 7 at 9:30 am at Latika complex, Nyamo Lotha Road, Dimapur. LCD has invited all the students, who have appeared Class XII or Graduation (final semester) exams this year to attend the programme. Health camp held in Saptiqa
To strengthen healthcare facilities and to deliver the same at the doorstep of the public in rural areas, Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) team comprising of Dr. Kihito, Dr. Kipito, Dr. Shikatoli, Dr. Imsongienla, Shekho Sophie, has conducted a health camp in Saptiqa under Zunheboto district on June 2. Saptiqa PHC covers three surrounding villages and is one of the hard to reach area under Zunheboto district. During the camp, the medical team had administered health check-up to 115 patients. Besides, it has distributed medicine free of cost to the patients.
‘Hope Cafe’ opens in Dimapur
Hope Cafe, an initiative of Eden Enterprises and Ministry that employs and empowers the differently abled, was launched on June 4 by Imnatiba Jamir, advisor of Industry, NIDC, and chairman of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board. The dedication prayer and blessing was pronounced by Rev. Hevukhu Achumi, WSBAK executive secretary. The cafe is located next to ICICI bank at Midland, opposite Dimapur Club.
Language officers training underway
A seven-day training programme on language and culture for language officers and assistant language officers, organised by the Centre for Naga Tribal Language Studies (CNTLS) under Nagaland University (NU) got underway at Kohima campus on June 4. The training would culminate on June 11, stated the course director Dr. L Bijenkumar Singh.
NTC convenes meeting
Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has convened a meeting of its executives and advisors in its office in Kohima on June 6 at 11 am. The organisation has requested all its concerned members to attend the meeting without fail.
