NNC to observe 67th plebiscite
The Naga National Council (NNC) will be observing the 67th anniversary of Naga Voluntary Plebiscite on May 16 at 10 am at Peace Hall in Chedema. All are invited to participate on the occasion. The council has requested all regional councils to observe the same in their respective region.
NPF convenes joint meeting
The Naga People’s Front (NPF) president, Shürhozelie Liezietsu has convened a joint meeting of the central office bearers and all the NPF official candidates ‘who could not return in the last general election,’ on May 14 at 10:30 am at the Central office in Kohima. The meeting has been called in exercise of the powers conferred to the president vide Article V Clause 5 read with Clause 10 of the NPF Constitution 1.
Mon’s DPDB to meet on May 15
Mon District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) monthly meeting has been scheduled on May 15 at 11 am in the deputy commissioner’s conference hall. All the board members have been requested to attend.
1st round training for Kohima polling officers
The district election officer of Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, has informed that the first round of training for polling officers for the Lok Sabha polls would be conducted on May 14 and 15th at Kohima College at 10:30 am. The training is for presiding officers, first, second and third polling officers, additional polling officer for voters’ verifiable paper audit trail, and grade-IV staff. The training is in connection with the forthcoming by-election to the Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency.
A&E office gives GPF update
Office of the Account General (A&E) has infromed all the GPF subscribers of the state government that a list of which are not posted due to wrong GPF account numbers and names forwarded erroneously by various departments have been compiled and handed over to sr. treasury officers / treasury officers for further distribution to DDOs. All DDOs are therefore requested to submit the corrected list directly to the GPF branch of A&E ffice or through concerned treasury officers for restoration. GPF subscribers are also requested to submit collateral evidences for restoration of their missing credits, since 2017-18 GPF accounts are about to be closed. All the subscribers are informed to submit their documents to GPF branch latest by June 29.
