Media informed to apply authority letter for bye-election

Media persons who are interested to cover the Lok Sabha Bye-Election have been informed to apply for authority letters for entry into polling station and counting centre separately. All request letter for the issue of authority letter should be accompanied by two passport size photographs. Applications should reach office of the DIPR on or before May 4 for onward submission to the Chief Election Officer’s office.

Bar association convenes emergency meeting

The Nagaland Bar Association has convened an emergency general body meeting on May 4 at 12 noon at its in Dimapur. The meeting has been called to discuss matters relating to the writ petition pending before the principal seat of the Gauhati High Court. The meeting will discuss for the early disposal of the writ petition either by withdrawal or compromised settlement or in any other manner as deemed appropriate, it was informed. All the local bars in the state have been requested to be present in person with collective views or to convey through telephonic information to pass appropriate resolution to that effect.

Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan coordinating officer, DCs asked to submit report

In pursuance of the ongoing ‘Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan’ being observed throughout the state from April 14 to May 5, the secretary of Home, Rovilatuo Mor has informed district co-ordinating officers and deputy commissioners to submit a consolidated report for their respective district with brief write up and photos. The report in hard as well as soft copy may be submitted to the Home Secretary before 7th May for onward submission to the Ministry.

DMC convene meeting

The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has convened a meeting for all the allottees of New Market (East side) C- block on May 4 at 1 pm in its administrator’s office in Dimapur. The meeting has been called for handing over the stalls / shops to the concerned allottees.

LOU/DHEP calls meeting with local employees

Convener media cell of LOU/DHEP has informed all the local employees of Doyang Hydro Electric Project (DHEP) and the office bearers of LOU/DHEP that there will be a consultative meeting on May 2 at NRC Hall Doyand at 1 pm. All the members have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.

Kohima Baptist youth sports fest

The Kohima Baptist Youth Fellowship (KBYF) will be conducting its biannual sports fest from May3- 5, at 4th NAP and village ground in Thizama. The event will be held under the theme “Game on” extract from 2 Peter 1:3. The inaugural function will begin at 8 am, with the Nagaland Baptist Church Council youth secretary, Rev. Vikuo Rhi. Participating churches have been requested to reach the ground by 7:45 am.
