Angami students to celebrate 50th anniversary
The Angami Students’ Union of Shillong (Asus) is set to celebrate their golden jubilee on April 14 at the U Soso Tham auditorium in Shillong in Meghalaya. The celebration will be based on the theme “rise and lead,” a press release from the union informed the media on Thur. April 12. The updates stated that the deputy speaker of Nagaland Zhaleo Rio, will be the chief guest; and the former vice chancellor of Martin Christian University of Shillong RG Lyngdoh the guest of honor for the occasion. Further, the updates informed that the Naga folk singer Methaneilie Jutakhrie will be performing during the programme. There will also be performances from members of the group’s alumni.
State electrical contractors asked to report
The Nagaland Electrical Contractors’ Union (NECU) at Kohima has informed electrical contractors to submit their licenses on or before April 25 for renewal. This was stated in a press release from the union which was received here on Thursday.The updates informed that the licenses should be submitted along with the supervisor and workmen’s undertakings duly signed by the identity card holders ‘with challans’ (receipts) to the head office of the NECU in Kohima. The press release stated that the union would not forward any incomplete license to the chief electrical inspector for renewal. The union has appealed to the chief electrical inspector not to receive licenses that are unverified or licenses that are not forwarded by the union. This, the union stated, was to prevent ‘double engagements’ and bogus undertaking.
NSDMA reschedules meeting
A meeting of the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority to discuss ‘pre-monsoon preparedness’ which was scheduled to be conducted on April 17 has been rescheduled to April 13. This was informed in a press release on Thursday from the agency. The press release informed that the meeting will be conducted in the chief minister’s office at the civil secretariat in Kohima. The meeting will begin at 12.30 pm. The press release informed all administrative heads and heads of departments to attend the meeting.
CWWS congratulates Vechüloü Kanuo
The Chakhesang Welfare Women Society (CWWS) has conveyed congratulations its executive director Vechüloü Kanuo, being awarded the CII Foundation Women Exemplar Award 2018. In a press note from the CWW President, Vechisalü Nukhu and Vice President, Asüne Demo, it has expressed immense pride in her achievement and stated that she will continue in her endeavors to uplift the status of rural women and communities.
Animal husbandry, Veterinary services to meet
The department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS) has informed that it will be organising an interactive meeting with its advisor R Khing, in the conference hall of the directorate of AH & VS on April 13 at 11am.
