8th Western Angami to oragnise town hall meeting
The 8th Western Angami, Urban Panchayats Union will be organising a common Town Hall meeting also referred to as ‘common platform’ for all the candidates on Feb. 17 at 11 am at APO hall, Midland in Kohima. The meeting is meant for the polling stations of Daklane, New Market, Midland, Naga hospital, and Officers Hill. Candidates will be given 20 minutes each to speak, it informed.
Tibetan shops to remain closed from Feb. 16
In view of the Tibetan New Year, the Tibetan Bhutia Buddhist Welfare Association has informed that Tibetan shops and restaurants will remain closed from Feb. 16 to 19th.
Dmr: Vehicles requisitioned asked to report
The district election officer of Dimapur has informed owners whose vehicles have been requisitioned and have not reported for checking on Feb. 10 to report to the Transport Cell, deputy commissioner’s office on or before Feb. 15 during office hours. Failure to comply with the notice will invite penalty under section 167 of the Representation of the People Act 1951, which may extend to the cancellation of the vehicle permit, the order stated.
Inspection of register for Dmr. candidates
The district election officer of Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel has informed intending candidates and agents that the first inspection of shadow register shall be conducted for all five assembly constituencies of Dimapur district by expenditure observer at the conference room of Police Mess in Chumukedima on Feb. 15 at 11 am. Candidates have been informed to send their agents positively.
Pughoboto: 1st level checking for VVPAT rescheduled
The first level checking for five VVPATs under 13th Pughoboto assembly constituency has been rescheduled on Feb. 16 at 9 am. The 2nd randomisation of EVMs and VVPATs for the constituency will be conducted at 10 am on the same day.
Tsg’s DEO notifies on postal ballot
The district election officer of Tuensang, L Jamithing Lotha has notified all the polling and police personnel that casting of postal ballot will be held at postal ballot facilitation centre at the Town Hall in Tuensang on Feb. 23 and 14th between 10 am to 2 pm. Government employees and police personnel engaged in election duty have been asked to report along with the appointment letter and duty detail order.
Voters’ slips for Pughoboto prepared
The returning officer of Pughoboto, Tiayanger Jamir, has notified that voters’ slips for all electors under 13th Pughoboto assembly constituency have been prepared and ready for distribution. All the 33 booth level officers (BLOs) under the constituency have been asked to report to the office of RO at 11 am on Feb. 15 to collect the voters’ slips.BLAs of political parties and candidates agents have been informed to liaise with BLOs during the distribution process. The collection of voters slips by BLOs has been scheduled at 11 am on Feb. 15 and distribution from Feb. 16 to 20th.
