NCD convenes emergency meeting
The Naga Council of Dimapur (NCD) has convened an emergency meeting scheduled to be conducted on Jan. 30 at 11:30 a.m. in the council’s office. The meeting has been called to deliberate on the issue of deferment of assembly elections and the all-Nagaland strike proposed to be conducted on Feb. 1. All members of the NCD; presidents and secretaries of tribal ‘hohos’; DUCCF; Naga Women Hoho of Dimapur; GB Union of Dimapur; and public representatives of Chumukedima, Diphupar, and Purana Bazar have been requested to attend the meeting on Jan. 30. This was notified by the NCD’s Vice President (admn.) K Ghokheto Chophy.
Longleng’s monitors to be briefed about EEMM
The district election officer of Longleng has informed that there will be a session for briefing on the Election Expenditure Monitoring Mechanism (EEMM) on Jan. 27 at 12 noon at the deputy commissioner’s conference hall. All team members of the election expenditure monitoring cell, police officers in charge of flying squads, static surveillance team and political agents of all intending candidates / parties have been requested to attend.
Angamimiapfü Krotho to conduct annual session
The apex body of the Angami women organization, the Angamimiapfu Mechü Krotho (AMK), will be conducting its annual conference and inauguration of the AMK’s hall on Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at the building’s complex. The president of Ura Academy Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu will attend the session as the chief guest. The AMK has invited delegates of about 100 each from the NAWO, SAWO, WAWO, and CAWO to the conference. Participants are requested to come in traditional attires.
Training for Peren’s polling personnel
District Election Officer Peren, Smita Sarangi has directed all the polling personnel requisitioned for the conduct of the 13th Legislative Assembly Election to attend the training in their own respective circle, along with two passport size photograph, as per the schedule given below. For Peren and Jalukie circle from Jan. 29-31; Tening circle from Feb. 1-3. It also informed that absentees shall be dealt as per the appropriate section of the law.
Pughoboto’s DEO notifies political parties
The district election officer of Pughoboto Avelu Ruho has informed all the recognised political parties under 13th Pughoboto assembly constituency that the first level of randomization of EVMs and VVPATs for the assembly election to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be carried out on Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. at the Additional Deputy Commissioner office. All recognized political parties have been directed to send representatives for the same.
SKK to conduct 1st executive meeting
The first executive council meeting of All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) has been convened on Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. at its office in Zunheboto. All executive members are requested to attend the meeting without fail.
