Dimapur, July 25 (EMN): The NSCN (IM) has said that ‘a new wave of nationalism, determination and awakening had dawned’ following its emergency national assembly held on May 31 ‘where the historic decision to stand by the national principle was taken’.
The group said this in its news bulletin Nagalim Voice the Naga people had been taken for a ride many times “in the name of Naga solution by craftily bringing the 9 Points Agreement, the 16 Points Agreement and the Shillong Accord”.
“The state of political turmoil as seen today is because of the failure of these deceitful agreements. These agreements were craftily drafted bereft of respect for the historical and political rights of the Nagas. Should the Nagas accept another agreement at the cost of Framework Agreement wherein lies the sovereign identity of the Naga nation?” read the editorial of the news bulletin.
“Naturally, what has hurt the Nagas the most is the betraying character of the past returning to undo everything which was achieved during the 25 years of Indo-Naga political talk. NSCN was thus, confronted with the situation that has turned haughty, apathetic and cold-hearted.
“But not to be unnerved by such unpleasant turn of Indo-Naga talks, we stay upbeat to turn the situation around by calling for emergency national assembly to meet the challenge thrown upon NSCN. It was a very tough decision but we feel we made the right one to protect the unique history and national principle at any cost,” it added.
