Dimapur, Feb. 21: In an interesting development, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Tuesday revoked the suspension of former home minister, Imkong L Imchen – sent to political exile by the NPF on April 4 last year.
An NPF press release stated that the return of one of its prodigal sons was made possible after the legislator “tendered unconditional apology for his misconduct and anti-party activities” through a letter submitted on Tuesday.
“Whereas, it is imperative to push the reconciliation process in its true sense in the interest of the party in particular and Nagas in general so as to bring more understanding and unity.
“And now therefore in exercise of my powers under Article V Section 9 of the Constitution of the Naga People’s Front, I, Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu, president of the Naga People’s Front, hereby revoke the suspension order of Imkong L Imchen, MLA from the party w.e.f. 21-02-2017,” it informed.
