DIMAPUR — The
newly constructed office building of the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Office
(SDAO) was inaugurated by Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor to the Department of
Agriculture, on Monday in Pungro town.
The inaugural programme was attended by government officials
and representatives from NGOs, stated a DIPR report.
In his speech, Yanthan congratulated the department on the
successful completion of the new office building. He also appreciated the
cooperation between the general public and the department and expressed
confidence in the region's potential, citing the unity, enthusiasm, and hard
work of the people.
Advisor for Home Guards and Civil Defence, Fire and
Emergency Services, S Kiusumew Yimchunger, in his brief speech, lauded the
initiative and emphasised the importance of empowering the agricultural
community.
The President of Pungro Public Front, Kongsu, also spoke,
expressing gratitude and hope for the positive impact the facility would have
on the farmers of the sub-division.
The event was chaired by Rokhwetsholo Kapfo, SDAO Pungro,
and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Akumtoshi, agriculture
officer at the SDAO office, Pungro.
