DIMAPUR — The new school building of the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Kigwema, in the Kohima district was inaugurated by Commissioner and Secretary for School Education and State Council of Educational Research and Training Kevileno Angami on May 4.
This building was constructed under Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, stated an update.
Addressing the gathering, Kevileno said that this building has been constructed for a purpose, to ensure that quality teaching takes place in the school. She asked the community to take care of the building and ensure that it benefits the students.
While appreciating the successful result of the school, she noted that there remains scope for further improvement in enrolment and academic performance.

Kigwema Village Council Chairman Khomeze Mera also delivered a short speech.
Earlier, Rose Chishi, Principal of the school, chaired the programme. A vote of thanks was proposed by Neiphrezo Thorie, President of the Kigwema Youth Organisation and School Management and Development Committee member.
Vikhweno Chale, Additional Secretary for the Department of School Education; Vineikho Tetso, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Jakhama; and Dr. Kevizakie Rio, Joint Mission Director for Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, were also present at the inaugural programme.
