DIMAPUR — Like-minded
youth of Nagaland have come together and formed a new organisation with its
nomenclature ‘Voices of Youth’ based on the principle of empowering young
people to actively participate in shaping the future of Nagaland. It believes
in fostering a generation that is informed, engaged and committed to social,
political, and economic transformation.
The vision of ‘Voice of Youth’ is to create a progressive
and inclusive Nagaland where the youth play a pivotal role in governance, policy-making
and community development. It also envisioned a society that values youth-led
innovation, sustainable development and cultural identity while embracing
modern opportunities.
The ideologies of Voices of Youth are:
(a) Youth empowerment: Providing platforms for young people
to voice their concerns, share ideas and take leadership roles in governance
and social change.
(b) Democratic participation: Encouraging active youth
participation in democratic processes, policymaking and decision-making at all
levels.
(c) Cultural identity and progress: Preserving Naga
traditions and heritage while promoting progressive and inclusive growth.
(d) Social justice and equality: Advocating for equal
opportunities in education, employment and governance, ensuring no youth is
left behind.
(e) Sustainability and innovation: Supporting youth-led
initiatives in environmental conservation, entrepreneurship, and technology for
a better future.
