Kohima, April 19 (EMN): Normal life might have come to a standstill and all religious gatherings restricted owing to the nationwide lockdown in view of the novel conoravirus (Covid-19) pandemic, but the yearning for attending Sunday service have not stopped the citizens of Kohima from observing the Sabbath Day.
Initiated by the New Market Youth Organisation (NMYO), another mass prayer service was organised at New Market colony early Sunday morning.
Kruzo Rutsa, UCRC deacon of New Market, read the Scripture and led the people in the prayer through a loud speaker as the residents of the colony gathered on the terraces, balconies, doors and windows of their respective homes and prayed together.
The colony prayed for the healing and hope in the prevailing situations due to the global outbreak of Covid-19 and thanked God for protecting Nagaland from the pandemic.
During the prayer service, the residents sang together "Amazing Grace" as the opening hymn and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" as the recessional hymn.
