
DIMAPUR — The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Dimapur was held on Monday in the conference hall of DC Dimapur under the chairmanship of the newly appointed chairman, H Tovihoto Ayemi, Advisor for Tribal Affairs and Election.
Speaking on the occasion, Tovihoto thanked the government of Nagaland for appointing him as chairman and acknowledged the efforts of the previous chairman and all the members for their contributions to the growth and welfare of the district, according to a DIPR report.
He expressed concern surrounding Japanese encephalitis raised by CMO Dimapur with the onset of the monsoon and urged the health department to carry out the fogging exercise promptly. He also requested that the department carry out sensitisation and awareness campaigns to inform citizens about the advisories.
Tovihoto called upon the members to work with renewed purpose and dedication, describing Dimapur as the district with the highest population and several challenges. He further urged all departments to implement their assigned tasks sincerely, particularly the centrally sponsored schemes in the district.
Earlier, initiating the meeting, DC Dimapur and vice chairman of DPDB Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, welcomed the new chairman and expressed optimism that the district would progress under his leadership.
DC Dimapur also expressed gratitude to all the officers and their subordinates for their dedicated service during the ULB elections.
Other items on the agenda of the meeting included the approval of LADP 2024–25 for Dimapur I, Dimapur II, and Dimapur III assembly constituencies, and the change of nomenclature from Cornerstone College to Connorstone College.
The proposal for the society registration of Nagaland Flatfenders Club, Kinunger Society, United Riders Motorcycle Club Nagaland, and Nagaland Agarwood Farmers Association was approved for further necessary action.
The Social Welfare and Urban Development departments have been tasked with presenting PowerPoint presentations on the status and activities of their respective departments at the next DPDB meeting.
