The commercial capital of the state Dimapur city has been seeing the entry of renowned consumerist brands.
Adding to its market landscape is another movie hall. A second cinema hall is in town (after Hill Star) called Fun Cinemas by Cinepolis, and located at Burma Camp. The cinema hall was inaugurated on Friday, July 15 by screening on its first day the newly released animation movie Ice Age: Collision Course.
As the entertainment sector seeks to redefine cinema viewing with high-end imaging technology and that offers both digital formats and Dolby surround sound, Fun Cinemas’ sound system promises to be superior with Dolby 7.1.
Fun Cinemas has a seating capacity of 66. The seating capacity is divided into silver-7 seats priced at Rs.200, gold-49 seats priced at Rs.300 and recliners- 10 seats priced at Rs.500.
The theatre was inaugurated on Friday morning by Dimapur Chakhesang Baptist Church’s pastor Rev.Dr.Weyiete Lohe. Talking to media persons prior to the screening of the movie in the evening, Proprietor Kulo Kenye said the opening of Fun Cinemas was a five-year dream project. He said to have been wishing to offer a space for ‘healthy recreation time’ to citizens.
Making the booking system haste free and more convenient, the booking for shows can be done at Bookmyshow.com, Kenye informed.
Fun Cinemas will run Monday to Sunday with average show timings from 11 am to 8 p.m.
