- DIMAPUR — The new
office building for the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) in Kikruma,
under the Department of Social Welfare, was inaugurated on Thursday.
- According to an update, the event was attended by Martha R
Ritse, Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Social Welfare and Mission
Director of Mission Vatsalya, as the special guest.
- During her address, Ritse highlighted the significance of
the project, emphasising that it stands as one of the most fortunate initiatives
under the department. Unlike many other projects, the CDPO Kikruma now has its
office building, providing a stable and dedicated workspace for its employees.
- She encouraged the staff and workers to uphold sincerity and
dedication, stressing that their collective efforts would directly benefit the
community they serve.
- In her speech, Tosheli Zhimomi, Director of Social Welfare,
acknowledged the support of the chief minister and former minister Neiba Kronu
in sanctioning funds for the project. The construction commenced in 2021, with
the total plinth area of the building measuring 1,590 sq. ft.
- She further extended gratitude to LK Enterprise, the
contractor responsible for the successful construction of the building.
- The director underscored the importance of infrastructure in
enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of welfare projects, noting that the
new office would facilitate smoother operations, ensuring better service
delivery for child development programmes in the region.
- Kevineinuo Rio, DPO Phek, in her vote of thanks, commended
the collective efforts of government officials, project staff, and
stakeholders, reaffirming the department's commitment to uplifting communities
through sustainable development initiatives.
