When Subash Chandra Bose established the Azad Hind Arzi Hukumat and raised the Indian National Army (INA) link with the Japanese. Meanwhile, a kingdom from the east came out powerful among nations, called itself ‘The Rising Sun’ (Japan). The Emperor of Japan declared that he would fight the British Imperialism and liberate those nations suffering under it. And the aim was to liberate the British Colonies in South East Asia like Hongkong, Singapore, Burma, Nagaland and India. Kohima and Chittagong was the last destination. And as soon as these two targets were taken he gave his word, Nagaland and India would be proclaimed independent. This is found in Triparite Agreement between General Sato, Phizo and Subash Chandra Bose which went: “whereas the rising sun policy is to oppose the imperialism and redeem the aspiration of the oppressed and depressed. Our aim is same, but objectives is different signed dully by the three leaders. The interpretation of the aim is same but objectives is different was that they will fight against the imperialism but after victory, both India and Nagaland will be independent of her own and Japan will not interfered.
Thus, it would be fantastic to imagine that Phizo for a period worked under the spell of Subash Chandra Bose. As Japanese were taken over Kohima - but as the reason why Chittagong could not be taken the reason was only best known to India. It was indeed a bad luck for Netaji. The Japanese plans for invasion of Nagaland and India with Lt. General Renya Mutaguchi, who was the overall command of the Nagaland and India campaign. Mutaguchi was also the architect of Japanese political strategy for Nagaland and India. Under indirect employed of the Japanese, the other Naga Scout and Guides and INA associates were detailed on duty with Lt. General Mutaguchi in Nagaland.
During this, Phizo and Netaji were with General Sato in Burma in the Japanese Army HQ. at Mandalay till August The American dropped an atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. That, some self-seeking opportunists always attributes their desire and feeling to Netaji for making money, just to hook-wink the tourist department without knowing the deep political and military strategic factor foe Japanese invasion of Nagaland and India. From Manipur sources said ‘that Netaji was believed to have been in Moiram of Manipur with that presumption the statue of Netaji has been erected there. Likewise, in Nagaland, some bogus writer wrote that Netaji came to Ciesezou and stayed under the bamboo groves as stated with a hill called Netaji’s peak at the some time Netaji monolith at Ruzazho. It is altogether contrary to the statement that I have learnt the war history from Phizo during my closed associated with him, as his Secretary in the Indo-Naga War. Such peak and monolith cannot be made without the authority of the nation.
Leaders like Netaji and Phizo, they were a true hero, a true legend, without them, who dare to face the dreadful white ruler? On meditation of the life history of Netaji and Phizo, the struggle and sacrifices made for the nations, the depth of the wisdom and the magnitude of the achievements is far beyond one’s thought and imagination. As the said writers stated about one’s images and boasting oneself without knowing the fact truth and reality. The one who made history for the Nagas and India, for them. We were proud when an enemy ruled over your country you have to defend and fight. That the modem world and young generation are facing a disaster.
