Dimapur, Aug. 25 (EMN): North East Rural Livelihood Project (NERLP) conducted a three-day residential training of trainers (ToT) programme for community resource persons (CRPs) of Peren district from August 21-23 at Aida Don Bosco, Dimapur.
The training was organised by NERLP in collaboration with Myrada, a grass root level promotion organisation based in Bangalore, with Shivashankar and Ravi as resource persons.
The key objective of the training was to understand the concept and functions of SHGs, book keeping and its importance, utilisation of loan and repayment, and Panchasutra.
Another objective of the training was to understand the concept and functions of village level federation- its governance, fund management, and accountability, roles and responsibility of office bearers, sub committees and conflict management. It also aimed at making them understand the importance and process of vision building and leadership.
The main purpose of conducting the training was to provide support to its counterpart NERLP in Tuensang district wherein the CRPs would impart training on SHGs and SHG village federation concept, share experiences and good practices of the Peren district SHGs and SHG village federation.
The organisation press release stated that altogether 10 CRPs and 3 project facilitator staff had left for Tuensang where CRPs would impart training from August 27 to September 24. It added that CRPs would be divided into five teams and covers 12 villages each. It aimed to cover a total 60 villages by September 24.
