Neitho Chadi wins the second Baulkline Open Snooker Tournament in Kohima, defeating Kigevi Zhimo in the final.

DIMAPUR — Neitho Chadi emerged champion of the second Baulkline Open Snooker Tournament organised by Baulkline Club Kohima at Porterlane, Kohima, defeating Kigevi Zhimo 3-2 frames in the final.
The three-day tournament, held from October 2 to the 4th, saw the participation of 52 players from Kohima, Dimapur, and Wokha.
According to an update, Chadi received INR 60,000, a trophy, and a citation, while runner-up Zhimo was awarded INR 30,000 and a citation. Semi-finalists Ronsenmonga Jamir and Rukusato Khusoh received INR 5,000 each and citations. Khusoh also won the highest break award of INR 5,000 for a break of 59.
Addressing the valedictory function, Kohima Town MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhütso described the snooker table as a “table of unity”, saying the tournament brought together players from different tribes and districts.
“Let this be not just a snooker table but a table of unity for all of us,” he said, while urging youngsters to take up the sport and aspire to represent Nagaland.
Drawing parallels between snooker and life, Rhütso said the game taught lessons of patience, humility, discipline, respect for opponents, and making the right decisions.
He said the government would try its best to promote the sport and encouraged players to work towards becoming champions at the state level and representing Nagaland.
Rhutso also called for unity among the Naga people, saying, “Let us be Naga. No more tribes. Let us be Naga.”
