- DIMAPUR — Final
semester students of Master of Social Work (MSW) and Bachelor of Social Work
(BSW) programmes at North East Institute of Social and Research (NEISSR) are
currently undertaking a 10-day study tour across various regions of India.
- An update from the institute stated that students,
specialising in peace and conflict transformation studies, youth development,
community development and social entrepreneurship are visiting various
organisations and institutions to immerse themselves in diverse cultural
practices and gain valuable insights related to their fields of study.
- The tour, which began on January 31, has been designed to
offer students hands-on learning opportunities in real-world settings. They
would engage with local communities, visit NGOs, educational institutions and
social enterprises and participate in field activities that directly align with
their academic specialisations.
- It stated that the study tour was not only focused on
academic learning but also emphasised the importance of cultural exchange and
the development of professional networks. By interacting with peers, experts
and community leaders, students are expected to expand their perspectives and
gain practical knowledge that could be applied to their future careers.
- The study tour would conclude on February 12.
