Dimapur, March 11(EMN): Member of the Rajya Sabha Neiphiu Rio on Saturday congratulated Naga People’s Front and the Bharatiya Janata Party–their leaders at the centre and in Nagaland–for their victories in the ongoing series of elections in various parts of the country.
The former chief minister of Nagaland issued separate messages on March 11.
In his message to Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Rio congratulated him for the victory of the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand elections.
“Your popular leadership has been the main factor behind the success of the BJP and the electorate, especially in UP and Uttarakhand having firmly placed their faith and confidence in you. The BJP has also performed in a remarkable manner in Manipur. Here too, your personal efforts in the campaign were the determining factor behind the success of the party,” the MP stated.
“I am hopeful that the BJP, under your able leadership, will be able to deliver on the expectations of the people and take the country towards greater heights.”
A second message to BJP president Amit Shah from the MP attributed “your astute guidance” as the reason for the party’s success. “I am hopeful that the country will march towards better times under your able leadership and I once again convey my heartiest congratulations on the election victory,” Rio stated to Shah.
Similarly, Neiphiu Rio congratulated Ram Madhav, general secretary of the BJP. “Much of the credit for the results goes to the inspiring leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi and BJP President Shri Amit Shah along with the efficient party organization under your stewardship,” Rio stated and hoped that the BJP-led NDA will be “further strengthened in our collective endeavour of taking the country towards a better future.”
To Shurhozelie Liezietsu, the chief minister of Nagaland and president of the Naga People's Front, Neiphiu Rio said he was delighted at the NPF’s performance in the Manipur elections.
“I am very delighted to know that the NPF party has won four seats in the recently concluded Manipur general elections. I, therefore extend my sincere congratulation to you and the party,” Rio stated to Dr. Shurhozelie.
“It may be mentioned that the party has come this far because of the amount of effort you had put through and not to forget your competent leadership. And it is my believe that the Naga people's Front will do much better even in days to come. I wish you and the party all success in the years ahead,” he added.
To Conrad Sangma, Lok Sabha member, and the president of the National People's Party, Neiphiu Rio commended the party’s “excellent performance of your party in the Manipur assembly elections.”
“You have provided able and energetic leadership to NPP and so far under your leadership the party has developed an excellent track record in the recent elections in Manipur and earlier in Meghalaya,” the Lok Sabha stated.
“You have also lived up to the legacy of your late father Shri. PA Sangma. I am happy that you are continuing on the principles and foundations laid down by your father. I once again congratulate you and your party organisation and wish you all success in future while assuring you of all support in our collective endeavour of nation building,” Neiphiu Rio stated.
The Nagaland unit of the BJP have congratulated its leaders at the centre for what they called the “astounding lead in UP and Uttarakhand and commendable performance in Manipur and Goa.” A note from the BJP united congratulated Prime Mnister Narendra Modiji and the BJP’s National President Amit Shah “for their efficient and dynamic leadership.”
“The party’s laurels in the just concluded assembly elections in these states are the crown of the party’s central leaderships. The state BJP expresses profound happiness for the magnificent performance of the party in these states,” the unit stated.
“The party is grateful to the people for continuing to repose faith in the BJP and coming out in large numbers to support the party candidates to usher in an era of rapid progress.”
