Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio condemns continued violence in Manipur, calls for accountability, peace and security for all
DIMAPUR — Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Thursday condemned the continued violence in Manipur, expressing concern over the loss of civilian lives, injuries and reports of people missing.
In a post on X, Rio said those responsible for such acts must be held accountable and called for an end to the cycle of violence.
“The cycle of violence must end, & peace & security must be restored for all,” he said.

Rio’s statement came amid fresh violence in Manipur, including an alleged militant ambush in Kangpokpi district on Thursday in which four members of the Naga community were killed and another injured.
The chief minister reiterated the need for peace and security for all amid the continuing violence in the neighbouring state.
I strongly condemn the continued violence in Manipur. The loss of civilian lives, injuries, & reports of people missing are deeply concerning. Those responsible for such acts must be held accountable. The cycle of violence must end, & peace & security must be restored for all.
